The aim of the Journal of Wound Technology is to disseminate clinical, scientific and practical information on all wound care products from simple dressings to cutting-edge technological applications. It also publishes selected research and development work arising from the European Academy of Wound Technology (EAWT). The EAWT affords professionals the opportunity to supplement their practical and skills and theoretical knowledge via a training scheme validated by a panel of international experts at a centre that combines conference and classroom facilities with high-tech simulation tools to facilitate the acquisition and sharing of techniques essential in today’s clinical practice and the practice of the future. It facilitates the exchange of ideas and knowledge and brings together multicultural and multidisciplinary specialists and experts.
The main focus of the journal is on practice. Clinicians will present their experiences of using products (both successful and not so successful) and discussions will be facilitated to help practitioners explore ways in which to address any problems in usage. The articles are peer-reviewed – particularly those related to research.
The website www.woundac.com (launch date to be confirmed) will carry the content of the journal, translated into a number of languages. It will also provide video demonstrations on all aspects of product use, thus making it a practical resource for practitioners who may be unable to access medical or nursing wound care specialists.
The journal is published quarterly. The editor welcomes submissions.
